Fair Grove showcased their dominance from the opening whistle in a commanding 56-29 victory over Mid-Lakes Conference rival Clever in the state sectional matchup.
The Lady Eagles wasted no time in establishing their superiority, surging to a commanding 21-8 lead after the first quarter, setting the tone for the game. Their relentless defensive effort stifled Clever’s offense, preventing them from reaching double-digit points in any quarter.
Leading the charge for Fair Grove was Camdyn Hart, who delivered an outstanding performance with 16 points, including all four of the team’s 3-pointers. Brooke Daniels and Abbey Green also made significant contributions, each adding 10 points to the scoreboard.
Despite a valiant effort from Clever’s Kenzie Camp, who led her team with 12 points, Fair Grove’s cohesive teamwork and defensive prowess proved insurmountable.
With the win, Fair Grove advances to the state quarterfinal round, where they will host Fatima. The Lady Eagles, ranked No. 2 in the final state rankings, are determined to continue their quest for another state title against the formidable No. 6-ranked Fatima squad.
